Gold ends week lower

Gold ended the week lower, after dropping 2.6 percent from a high of $1,751 down to $1,705. Just on Friday prices dropped nearly $17 an ounce, as the precious metal is hurt by uncertainty over the fiscal cliff. Washington’s negotiations continue to influence investor sentiment. US economy expands 2.7% in third quarter

The US economy expanded faster than previously forecast.  GDP data showed that the pace of growth was at a 2.7 percent annual rate, helped by a narrower trade deficit and gains in inventory. This was enough to overshadow a drop in consumer spending.
